Two people lost their lives in a tragic incident when a school bus carrying over 40 students crashed in Texas.

Two individuals were killed when a concrete truck crashed into a school bus carrying over 40 pre-kindergarten students on a field trip in Texas on Friday.

Sgt. Deon Cockrell of the Texas Department of Public Safety reported that a separate vehicle was also part of the collision in a suburban area near Austin. It is unclear which vehicle(s) the victims were traveling in.

According to Mr. Cockrell, additional individuals who were harmed were transported by helicopter to medical facilities. However, he was not aware of the exact number.

The Hays Consolidated Independent School District stated that the bus was in a “severe crash” on its way back from a zoo field trip. The district announced that there were 44 students and 11 adults on the bus at the time.

After the accident, there was a noticeable number of initial responders and emergency transportation on the road with trees on either side. The bus was in an upright position but tilted towards a certain side. The front of the bus was significantly damaged, and a nearby vehicle was extensively crushed. Belongings belonging to individuals were scattered across the road.

The school district announced that the students go to Tom Green Elementary School in Buda, located approximately 16 miles (25km) southwest of Austin.

The school district informed the parents of the students on the bus about the accident and was making efforts to bring them back together.
