Two people have died in a vehicle explosion at Niagara Falls, causing smoke to fill the area.

According to sources in law enforcement, two individuals have passed away after a car exploded at the Niagara Falls border crossing between the United States and Canada.

The blast that occurred on Wednesday caused the well-known Rainbow Bridge to temporarily close the border crossings between the United States and Canada in that region.

According to the FBI field office in Buffalo, New York, a vehicle on the US border was involved in an incident where it hit a curb and flew into the air before exploding.

A powerful explosion caused a temporary closure of the Peace Bridge, Lewiston-Queenston Bridge, Whirlpool Bridge, and Rainbow Bridge, which are all crossings between the United States and Canada. As a precaution, Buffalo Airport also ceased international flights following the incident.

After the incident, New York Governor Kathy Hochul stated in a press conference that there was no indication of terrorist activity. As a result, three out of four cross-border bridges were able to resume operations.
