Prince Harry and Meghan issue statement on Kate Middleton’s cancer diagnosis

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have given their support to the Princess of Wales in response to her announcement of being diagnosed with cancer.

“The statement expressed our hopes for Kate and her family to find privacy and peaceful healing during this time.”

Less than 24 hours later, the Princess of Wales announced on Friday evening at 6pm that she had been diagnosed with cancer.

“In January, I had a significant abdominal operation in London. Initially, it was believed that my condition was not cancerous. Fortunately, the surgery was a success. However, follow-up tests revealed the presence of cancer,” said Kate in her statement.

Based on my doctor’s recommendation, I am currently receiving preventative chemotherapy to address my medical issue. I have recently started this treatment.

The pair of couples has not made a public appearance together since the passing of Queen Elizabeth in September 2022.

According to Buckingham Palace, King Charles and Queen Camilla expressed their pride for the Princess of Wales’ bravery in her speech. They stated that they were “so proud” of her.

The statement also mentioned that the king, who was also diagnosed with cancer in February, is continually communicating with his dear daughter-in-law.

Prince Harry flew from Los Angeles to speak to his father after the King’s cancer diagnosis was announced in February.

It remains uncertain if Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle have communicated with Kate or William after the announcement was made.

The two sets of couples have not made a public appearance together since the passing of Queen Elizabeth in September 2022. They were previously known as the “Fab Four”.

In February, Prince Harry revisited the UK to visit his father. According to a source close to the royal family, there are currently no arrangements in place for the two brothers to meet.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau expressed his condolences for the Princess of Wales after learning of her passing.

Mr Trudeau wrote on X, formerly Twitter: “My thoughts are with the Princess of Wales, her children, and the entire Royal Family following the news of her cancer so courageously shared.

“As a representative of the Canadian community, I am expressing my support for her as she receives treatment. We are all hoping for her speedy recovery.”
