The investigators believe that the individuals were scared and tried to exit the car, but were shocked once they left the vehicle.
According to spokesperson Rick Graves, if a powerline falls on a vehicle, those inside should remain in the vehicle and contact 911 unless there is an immediate threat.
He mentioned that the rubber tires of the car will impede the flow of electric current.

Four individuals were discovered approximately 35 feet away from a vehicle that was covered by a powerline and held down by a large tree branch, according to statements from fire officials.
Authorities reported that a pair of adults and a young adult were discovered deceased at the location, while a two-year-old child was transported to the hospital unharmed.
According to authorities from the fire department, witnesses reported that an individual took the young child from one of the adults on the ground. The child was then brought outside by a nearby resident upon the arrival of fire rescue personnel.
The representative, Rick Graves, stated that a tree limb had landed on a power line, resulting in it landing on an SUV.
Authorities believe that the individuals were scared and tried to exit the car, but were fatally shocked upon doing so.
The line was later de-energized by the power company, although the statement did not mention which company specifically.
