Donald Trump Jr. gives testimony in fraud case while Trump remains quiet about sister's passing: Real-Time Updates

Donald Trump Jr. exits court with a thumbs up as his family faces trial for fraud.

The defense team for Donald Trump has started presenting their argument in the Supreme Court of New York State in Lower Manhattan. They have called for a second round of testimony from his son, Donald Trump Jr.

After receiving a standing ovation from the Madison Square Garden audience on Saturday night, the previous president entered the arena to spectate UFC 295.

During the event, cameras caught Nia Renee Hill, the spouse of comedian Bill Burr, seemingly making an obscene gesture towards the former president amidst the cheers and clapping.

Mr Trump was accompanied by former Fox News host Tucker Carlson and UFC president Dana White as he made his way ringside after the preliminary bouts were over. Don Jr and Kid Rock were also among the 19,000-strong crowd.

In the morning, he gave a speech in Claremont, New Hampshire, where he once more incorrectly stated that Barack Obama is the present president.

On Saturday Night Live, performer James Austin Johnson portrayed Trump in the opening sketch of the show, where he unexpectedly appeared at the Republican presidential debate.

Johnson taunted his opponents for the GOP presidential race as they were stuck behind him, mirroring their low rankings in the polls.

Alex Woodward is providing updates from the court proceedings.

After numerous hours of inquiry that showcased the promotional video for Trump’s property, Faherty is now challenging him on a few statements he made.

At the location of 40 Wall Street, she mentions that the property had a mortgage with a 3.76% interest rate and was set to be paid off in July 2025. This was based on the occupancy rate in 2015. However, the occupancy rate has now decreased to 77%.

Junior sarcastically remarks that the Waikiki hotel has completely removed the Trump name, saying “That’s their plan.”

When asked about the future plans of the Trump family, Don Jr responds that their plans will be affected by whether they face legal action in the near future.

The cross-examination ends and the Trump team gathers for a brief moment to strategize their next steps.

Direct examination concludes

Team Trump will not be answering any more questions. Their presentation of the Trump real estate portfolio was more like a sales pitch and advertisement for Trump products, rather than a testimony in a high-stakes trial involving millions of dollars.

Colleen Faherty from the New York Attorney General’s office initiates the questioning and mentions the Los Angeles golf course, which the defendant’s legal team had him verify as being “directly on the Pacific Ocean”.

She inquires, “Did the 18th hole actually collapse into the ocean?”

Don Jr affirms that it did.

Don Jr is continuing his testimony by giving a tour of properties owned by his father, President Trump.

Donald Trump Jr. proceeds with his statement by visiting the Trump golf courses and concluding at the Trump International Hotel in Washington, DC, located in the Old Post Office building.

When asked about the state of the project before the Trumps became involved, Don Jr responds with “It was like a war zone.”

Trump desires for his trial to be broadcasted on television.

Donald Trump and the mainstream media surprisingly agreed on a Friday night legal filing to have his federal trial, in which he is accused of conspiring to overturn the 2020 election, broadcasted live on TV.

The lawyers of the ex-president stated that the prosecution wants to carry on with this unjust situation secretly. President Trump, on the other hand, urges for transparency. Every individual in America and beyond should be able to examine this case directly and witness how, if there is a trial, President Trump proves his innocence against these groundless and politically driven accusations.

In other parts of the document, Mr. Trump’s group repeated well-known, outlandish claims that the prosecution by the special counsel is a deliberate attempt to sabotage President Trump’s campaign, resembling tactics used by authoritarian governments.

In the midst of applause, Trump receives a rude gesture at UFC event.

However, not all individuals in the New York group were pleased to encounter the ex-president.

Actress Nia Renee Hill, who is married to comedian Bill Burr, was caught on camera seemingly flipping off the former president while he was addressing the audience, unaware of the gesture.

Trump was likened to Hitler following his use of the word “vermin” in an attack.

Mr Trump, 77, spoke in Claremont, New Hampshire, telling the crowd in his usual grievance-laden parlance: “We pledge to you that we will root out the communists, Marxists, fascists and the radical left thugs that live like vermin within the confines of our country that lie and steal and cheat on elections.”

The previous leader has rejected the outcome of the 2020 election and persists in spreading falsehoods by asserting that it was stolen.

The individual known as the ‘QAnon Shaman’ is planning to run for a seat in Congress following their release from prison on January 6.

Jacob Chansley, also known as the “QAnon Shaman” for his involvement in the infamous Capitol riot, has announced his intention to run for Congress in Arizona in 2024. This comes after he pleaded guilty to a felony charge.

According to the Associated Press, an Arizona resident filed a statement of interest last Thursday regarding the removal of the fur headdress, horns, and face paint from January 6.

He stated his intention to run as a Libertarian candidate for the election in Arizona’s 8th Congressional District.

Donald Trump continues to criticize the trial while his son, Donald Trump Jr., testifies in support of the defence.

The most recent update from the ex-president on Truth Social:

It’s unbelievable that this Political Witch Hunt Trial is still ongoing. There are no victims, no witnesses (one witness even admitted to fabricating a false story and lying!), no defaults, no jury, nothing – only satisfied banks. The only fraud was committed by the judge and the Attorney General, who claimed that Mar-a-Lago was only worth $18,000,000 when they knew it was worth much more. They just wanted to make me look bad – it’s all a big scam orchestrated by the New York A.G. in order to win the election and then run for governor, which they failed at. This Trump-hating judge must withdraw his biased early ruling (before the trial even began. He had no knowledge of the facts!). He is crushed by the truth but can’t seem to let it go. He is obsessed! Any other judge would have dismissed this baseless lawsuit years ago. He even tried to pressure me into settling for a much lower amount during a settlement conference, but I refused because I did nothing wrong! Businesses will never return to New York if this hoax is not dismissed and forgotten.

Donald Trump Jr’s involvement with the Trump Organization has now extended to 2012, when he was involved in brokering a deal for the Trump National Doral golf club. This falls within the same time period as the New York Attorney General’s case against the company.

Alex Woodward provides updates from the courtroom.

In February 2022, Newmark valued Doral at $1.3 billion.

The New York Attorney General’s office disagrees with its inclusion, stating that it is not relevant. It falls outside the timeframe being investigated for making those untrue statements.

Judge Engoron is leaning towards agreement, but acknowledges that there is probably no harm in including it.

It appears that Trump’s defense attorneys, Christopher Kise and Alina Habba, have remained silent for the majority of this trial, making it feel like it has been the longest period of time without their input. They have not spoken for almost three hours.

The court takes a break for lunch.

A hotel in Hawaii removes the Trump name while Don Jr. testifies about it.

Don Jr is currently giving testimony regarding the Trump International Hotel in Waikiki. He claims that the hotel did not meet his father’s standards and was never completed.

The hotel has recently declared that it will no longer be associated with the Trump brand. Instead, it will be transitioning to the Hilton brand and will now be known as Wakea Waikiki Beach.
