Initially, I dismissed it as a mere figure of speech. However, over the next seven years, Trump continued to spew lies and engage in deceitful behavior, but still managed to evade consequences. It appeared that Trump’s belief in being immune to accountability was accurate.

Finally, after a long time, now.

Last week, the Colorado Republican stated he would not run for another term and started off with the usual critique of Democratic policies, as expected from a staunch conservative. However, he surprised by directing his frustration towards fellow Republicans in a three-minute video, accusing them of being overly focused on seeking revenge for fabricated wrongdoings from the past.

Buck’s aggressive strategy was not unexpected by many on Capitol Hill.

Buck, with his stoic attitude, strong sense of autonomy, and experience as a federal prosecutor, has become well-known as a House Republican who is tired of Donald Trump’s false claims regarding the 2020 election he lost to Democrat Joe Biden. This stance is not shared by many others in the GOP and demonstrates the significant impact of Trump’s previously marginalized lies on the Republican party.

Buck frequently makes appearances on networks like CNN. He has no intention of leaving Congress before his term ends, making him a likely adversary to Republicans in the remaining months of his tenure. His unconventional beliefs also extend to the impeachment investigation involving Biden, which Buck has disregarded as unfounded.

Buck stated in the video that our country is headed towards a collision with reality, and that the only way to move forward is through a strong dedication to truth, even if it may be uncomfortable.

The appeals court quickly rejected her request for a temporary delay of her testimony on November 8, which was scheduled in the middle of a school week, after her lawyer argued that it would cause her unnecessary difficulty.

According to her lawyer, Ms. Trump lives in Florida with her three young children and would face serious difficulties if she is not granted a delay and is forced to testify in a New York trial during the school week. This is for a case that she has already been removed from and before her appeal is considered. The appeal was filed on Thursday.

The restriction on Donald Trump’s speech in his 2020 election interference case in Washington was temporarily lifted by a federal appeals court on Friday. This is the latest development in the ongoing legal battle over the limitations placed on the former president’s ability to speak.

The recent ruling from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit temporarily suspends the limited gag order, allowing the judges to review Trump’s request for a longer delay on the restrictions while his appeals are ongoing. The appeals court clarified that the temporary pause should not be seen as a decision on the merits of Trump’s request.

The court has scheduled verbal discussions for November 20th with a group of three judges, all chosen by Democratic presidents.

On Friday, a lawyer representing Trump chose not to provide a statement.

Judge Tanya Chutkan, of the U.S. District Court, has issued a gag order that prohibits Trump from publicly talking about prosecutors, court employees, and potential witnesses involved in the case against him for allegedly trying to overturn the 2020 presidential election he lost to President Joe Biden. However, the order does not prevent the former president from maintaining his innocence and arguing that the case against him is driven by political factors.

Chutkan, who was selected for the position by former President Barack Obama, reinstated the gag order on Sunday. This decision was made after prosecutors cited President Trump’s recent social media posts regarding his former chief of staff Mark Meadows.

This is the most severe limitation a court has imposed on the speech of a GOP presidential candidate who is also facing criminal charges in four different cases. While gag orders are not uncommon in high-profile trials, this is the first time courts have had to consider whether they can restrict the speech of a potential presidential nominee.
