Former NATO chief says Putin has discovered that conscripts are not helpful.

According to a former NATO secretary general, enlisting conscripts in the UK would not have any benefits, as demonstrated by Vladimir Putin.

Lord George Robertson stated that conscription is not an effective method of strengthening our defenses, despite some military leaders starting to support it.

It seemed like he was mentioning Russians who were leaving the country after Putin declared the first mobilization since the second world war.

Lord Robertson’s statements followed comments from General Sir Patrick Sanders, who is stepping down as Chief of the General Staff (CGS), which were seen as implying that a draft may be necessary in a potential conflict with Moscow because the British Army is not large enough.
