The authorities are securing the area where a young male was fatally stabbed right before midnight on New Year’s Eve (December 31st) at a popular lookout point in London.

Police were summoned to Primrose Hill in Camden at 11:40pm on Sunday, according to the Metropolitan Police.

The authorities believe the victim to be 16 years old and was declared deceased at the location just before midnight. Despite the initial aid provided by the police and emergency services from London Ambulance Service and London Air Ambulance, the victim could not be saved.

According to the Met, a man has been apprehended and is being held in custody for the alleged crime of murder.

The area of Primrose Hill is a well-liked location for observing the New Year’s Eve fireworks, and authorities reported a high level of activity during the incident. They encouraged anyone with knowledge to come forward.
