A young boy, aged eight, was fatally struck by a truck while on a bustling road in West London.
On Friday evening, a boy was hit by a car on King Street in Southall. The Metropolitan Police and London Air Ambulance were notified and arrived at approximately 6:20pm.
Paramedics treated him at the side of the road and quickly transported him to the hospital where he was declared deceased at 9:47pm. The authorities have notified his family, according to the police.
The truck driver came to a halt at the site and there have been no detentions. A probe has been initiated and authorities have requested for any bystanders to come forward with information.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “An investigation has been launched after an eight-year-old boy was killed in a collision in Ealing.
On Friday, 23 February at 6:20pm, authorities responded to reports of a lorry and pedestrian accident on King Street in Southall.
The child received medical attention from London Ambulance Service and paramedics from London’s Air Ambulance before being quickly transported to a hospital.
Unfortunately, despite the hard work of medical professionals, he was declared deceased at 9:47pm. His family has been notified. The truck driver stayed at the location and no one has been taken into custody.
The detectives of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are requesting that anyone who saw or has dash cam footage of the incident, or the events that occurred before it, to please contact 101 or post @MetCC with the reference CAD 5824/23FEB24.
