A male individual has been apprehended for allegedly attempting to kill a law enforcement officer on Canvey Island.
According to Essex Police, an officer was hospitalized on Saturday morning following an assault that resulted in neck injuries.
The police officer had responded to a disturbance reported by residents on First Avenue at approximately 4am.
“I am happy to report that the officer has been released from the hospital and we are providing him with support as he recuperates.”
On Saturday afternoon, a 45-year-old male was detained for suspicion of trying to commit murder and stayed in police custody.

I am happy to report that the officer has been released from the hospital and we are providing support for his recovery.
“The detained individual is still in custody and we want to assure the public that there is no danger stemming from this occurrence.”
