A large blaze tears through the Christmas market in Berlin, causing tourists to evacuate.

A massive blaze erupted at a holiday market in Berlin, causing large groups of tourists to evacuate the vicinity.

At approximately 8pm on Tuesday (5 December), video footage captured two market stalls on fire with large columns of smoke rising above the main Berlin market.

According to Bild, during the firefighting efforts, two small gas canisters detonated.

Two individuals were hurt and taken to the hospital by Berlin authorities after attempting to put out the fire on their own.

A fire occurred one week following the arrest of two teenagers in North Rhine-Westphalia and Brandenburg for reportedly planning attacks on Christmas markets.
