A dog and its owners were rescued by airlift after their boat malfunctioned 90 miles away from the coast of Florida.

On Saturday, November 19th, a boat malfunction left two individuals and their dog stranded 90 miles from the Florida coast. Fortunately, they were rescued.

A helicopter crew from the Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater rescued two people and their pet by airlifting them after being alerted to a broken porthole on their boat, which caused water damage to the electronics onboard.

Lieutenant Junior Grade Connor Sullivan, the commanding duty officer at Sector St. Petersburg, stated: “As a result of the reported water damage to the system, this alert provided us with their most recent location and enabled us to conduct an investigation since the owners had registered it to their equipment.”
