The animal rights organization Peta has unveiled a chilling new commercial urging individuals to consider giving up the use of leather products.

Peta has unveiled a chilling advertisement urging consumers to “recognize the inhumanity of the leather trade”.

Video captures a woman with a blindfold on, joyfully hitting a piñata in the shape of a cow with a baseball bat. Eventually, the piñata breaks open, spilling out intestines and leather items like shoes and bags covered in blood onto the ground.

The group reports that they sent the video directly to designer Victoria Beckham, whose Paris Fashion Week show was interrupted by their demonstration.

According to Peta, although Beckham’s brand prohibits the use of fur and exotic skins, it still relies heavily on inhumanely sourced leather, specifically calfskin.
