Blake Lively caused controversy on social media when she wore a unique Balenciaga outfit that combined shoes and trousers at the Super Bowl.
Last month, the actress who is 36 years old went to the game with Taylor Swift. She surprised her followers by disclosing that her pants and shoes were actually one piece.
On Instagram, Lively posted pictures of her unconventional attire, stating: “I recently left my children for the first time and wore pants that doubled as shoes. I took inverted photos without realizing it and even treated a friendship bracelet like a Flat Stanley for my spouse, as if I didn’t realize it wasn’t the year 2007.”
I borrowed a larger amount of jewelry than the skeleton seen on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. Then, I went out to a club. Now I can imagine what my experience would be like on an episode of The Twilight Zone.
These pants are from a collaboration between Balenciaga and Adidas and are called “pantashoes.” They were first introduced on the runway during the Balenciaga Spring 23 show in New York.
The red Adidas tracksuit, which is loose-fitting, is paired with red heels worn by Lively and costs £2,950 at retail.
Lively donned bouncy curls and accessorized with a white crop top, gold bangles, chunky gold necklaces, and a friendship bracelet featuring Deadpool and Wolverine.
Lively posted a video on her Instagram story featuring the outfit and wrote: “These shants were made for walking, and that’s exactly what I’ll do.”
Online commentators were taken aback by the daring appearance, with one individual exclaiming: “I’m still stuck on the idea of ‘pants that are actually shoes’… What?!”. Another person playfully quipped: “Are you suggesting there could be a group of sisters who share magical pants and shoes?”
Some people appear to be embracing the fashion trend, as one person commented: “Wearing pants that double as shoes is the new version of ‘boots with the fur’.”
Someone else chimed in, saying, “Congratulations, Blake! I hope you had a wonderful time. There’s nothing quite like returning home to your kids after a trip.”
Lively disclosed that her recent trip to Las Vegas was her first time away from her four children. She shares these children with her husband, actor Ryan Reynolds, who stayed home and watched the game.
