Carlo Ancelotti, manager of Real Madrid, is expressing his opposition to Jude Bellingham’s two-game suspension due to a red card. Ancelotti believes that the punishment is excessive and not fitting for the situation.
The 20-year-old midfielder from England received a red card during last weekend’s match against Valencia after arguing with referee Jesus Gil Manzano. The referee had blown the final whistle just seconds before Bellingham was able to score what could have been the winning goal for Real.
The Spanish Football Federation’s (RFEF) competitions committee denied an appeal made by Madrid against a two-match suspension on Friday.
According to reports, Bellingham will not be included in Madrid’s 20-man team for their LaLiga match against Celta Vigo on Sunday. Despite this, the top-ranked team is not dropping the matter and has filed an appeal with TAD (Sports Administrative Court of Spain).
“We’ve appealed because we believe the sanction is overzealous and inappropriate,” Ancelotti said on the club’s official website on Saturday.
According to the report, there was no indication of him insulting anyone.
“They have observed his behavior towards the referee, and I hope they have not unfairly targeted him. Bellingham’s protests are no different from those of others, and there are many who behave much worse.”
“We disagree with the penalty and have filed an appeal.”
Additionally, Ancelotti has stood by Vinicius Jr, who has faced backlash for his recent displays.
After reviewing the statistics, the Italian remarked that he had never witnessed a player being treated as unfairly as this before.
“He gets kicked, insulted, jeered… He scores goals and sets them up. I think everyone should rethink their attitudes towards Vini Jr.
“I have never seen such a talented player being mistreated in such a brutal manner. Instead of creating t-shirts, we should focus on addressing the matter at hand.”
Even though Madrid was not able to win against Valencia, they are still in a strong position at the top of the table. However, Ancelotti acknowledges that his team, who have tied in three out of their last four games in all competitions, have not been performing with the same level of intensity in recent weeks.
“After the Girona game, which was our top showing of the season, we have faced difficulties and it’s possible that we have eased off a bit,” he stated.
We must consider areas where we have not been performing at our best in order to make improvements. We are not worried, as we assess things with a critical approach and strive to improve.
On Wednesday, we did not demonstrate enough vigor and had a negative mindset. Therefore, we need to ensure that we improve in these areas tomorrow.
Celta will travel to the Bernabeu stadium, currently ranking 17th in the LaLiga table. However, their spirits have been lifted by their recent 1-0 victory against Almeria at home.
I’m not sure how to rewrite the article.
I am uncertain how to rephrase the content from the independent.co.uk website.
