Protesters supporting Palestine reject accusations of extremism following a warning from Chancellor Rishi Sunak.

Demonstrators in London participated in a Day of Action for Palestine rally on Sunday, March 2nd, countering extremist groups following a recent warning by Rishi Sunak about threats to democracy.

During a quickly organized speech on Friday, the prime minister stated that the streets of the UK have been taken over by individuals who are opposing British values through their participation in demonstrations calling for a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas conflict.

Luca Salice, 67, co-chair of the Camden Palestine Solidarity Campaign, said: “Look around at the people here. Do they look like extremists? We are not extremists. We are people [who] are against genocide.

“Potentially, there may be one or two individuals with extreme beliefs who participate in the protests. I cannot eliminate the possibility of this occurrence.”
