In his regular evening speech, the president of Ukraine referenced a report from HUR, the nation’s military intelligence organization. Ukraine’s air force reported successfully intercepting and disabling a large-scale drone attack from Russia, bringing down 34 out of 35 Iranian drones.
A total of 12 regions in Ukraine were targeted by multiple waves of drones over a span of seven hours starting at 8pm.
However, only one was able to penetrate the air force’s defenses.
A drone strike on a block of flats in the Solomyanskyi district of Kyiv caused a massive orange flame to erupt into the night sky, as seen in a video shared on social media.
Vitali Klitschko, the mayor of the city, reported that fragments from a drone caused a fire at a building under construction in the Darnytskyi district, located on the eastern bank of the Dnipro River which runs through the city.
Next year, Ukraine may request that male citizens residing outside the country join the army.
The defense minister of the war-torn country stated on Thursday that Ukrainian men living abroad who are capable of serving in the military should come back to join the armed forces next year. He also mentioned that consequences may be implemented for those who do not comply with this call.

Vitali Klitschko, the mayor of the city, announced that remnants from a drone caused a fire at a residential building in the Darnytskyi district, located on the eastern side of the Dnipro River that flows through the city.
According to him, there were no reports of any injuries. Images shared on the internet displayed building materials scattered around the location.
The leader of Kyiv’s military administration, Serhiy Popko, stated that pieces from a destroyed drone caused damage to an apartment complex in the Holosiivskyi district, which is located south of the city center.
Popko shared images that displayed broken windows and significant destruction to the apartments.
Multiple areas in Kyiv were struck by a large-scale drone assault.
Early on Friday, Russian drones attacked Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, causing damage to property and injuring two individuals. This is the most recent nighttime drone attack from Moscow on Ukraine.
This was the sixth assault on the capital in the current month and was part of a larger group of drones that aimed at regions in central, southern, and western Ukraine, according to the country’s air force.
The report stated that Ukrainian air defense successfully intercepted and destroyed 24 out of 28 attack drones.

The emergency services reported damage to multiple apartments on the 24th, 25th, and 26th floors of the building. Two individuals were hurt, with one receiving medical treatment at a hospital.
The event took place a couple of hundred meters away from a hospital for expecting mothers.
