Tottenham is currently in discussions with Genoa regarding the cost and terms of the transfer for centre-back Radu Dragusin.
The 21-year-old has reached an agreement on wages, and there is a possibility of Djed Spence going out on loan. However, the current focus of negotiations is on determining the price.
The Spurs are not interested in a deal that goes over £25m, but Genoa is pushing for a higher amount, closer to £30m. It is expected that roughly £5m of the agreement will be based on additional conditions and terms, which is currently being discussed. The issue of agent fees must also be resolved.
Ange Postecoglou has been keen on another centre-half since Micky van de Ven got injured, with Spurs set to be one of the busiest sides in the first weeks of January.
The Australian team is currently seeking to fill three crucial roles, specifically a winger and a number eight.
If he is able to include Dragusin in the loan agreement for Timo Werner from Leipzig, it would eliminate the need to search for another attacking midfielder.
The 21-year-old player from Genoa has already represented Romania in 13 matches.
Although other clubs have shown interest, none are as far along as Spurs.
