Mason Greenwood, who is on loan from Manchester United, received a red card while playing for Getafe, resulting in a 2-0 loss at home to Rayo Vallecano in LaLiga.
Before halftime, the home team lost one player and were left with only 10 on the field as Juanmi Latasa, who is on loan from Real Madrid, received a second yellow card. To make matters worse, Sergio Camello scored a goal for the visiting team, putting them ahead 1-0.
Camello doubled their lead two minutes after the interval and Greenwood was given a straight red card three minutes later for dissent after he appeared gesture how many times he had been fouled to referee Jorge Figueroa.
In the game, Greenwood was shown a red card, making him the eighth player on the Getafe team to receive one this season. Additionally, after being substituted, Damian Suarez from the bench also received a red card in a heated confrontation, bringing the total number of cards shown to 11.
Martin Zubimendi netted a last-minute goal to salvage a 1-1 tie for 10-man Real Sociedad against Deportivo Alaves.
The goalkeeper for Sociedad, Alex Remiro, received a red card in the 36th minute for handling the ball outside of the designated area. Despite this, the score remained tied until the 76th minute when Luis Rioja scored a penalty kick, giving the away team a 1-0 lead.
Alaves appeared to be on track to secure a win with all three points until the sixth minute of added time. However, Zubimendi capitalized on a loose ball in the penalty area and scored from within the box.
Pepelu scored two penalty kicks as Valencia secured their second consecutive win in the league with a 3-1 victory against Villarreal.
Roman Yaremchuk scored his initial goal in LaLiga to put Valencia ahead after four minutes, while Pepelu scored twice from penalty kicks in both halves. Gerard Moreno’s goal in the second half secured a victory and three points for the team.
AC Milan advanced to the quarter-final round of the Coppa Italia after a dominant 4-1 win against Cagliari at San Siro stadium in Italy.
At the 30-minute mark, Luka Jovic scored for the home team by powerfully shooting the ball into the net from a short distance. He scored again just before halftime after Theo Hernandez assisted him for the second time, with Jovic deflecting the ball into the goal.
In the 50th minute, Milan solidified their lead when Chaka Traore scored his first goal for the senior Milan team. Cagliari managed to score one goal late in the game through Paulo Azzi, but Rafael Leao quickly regained Milan’s three-goal advantage, securing their spot in the next round.
