Manchester City has shown interest in acquiring the services of Savio, a Brazilian winger who has played a significant role in Girona’s unexpected push for the LaLiga title this season.
There is currently no agreement in place, however the young athlete is currently on loan from Troyes, another club within the City Football Group. This may potentially facilitate the completion of a transfer.
Savio was signed for €6.5m in 2022, but has yet to make an appearance for Troyes. He spent last season on loan with PSV Eindhoven and is currently playing for Girona.
He has achieved a total of five goals and seven assists, tying for the highest number in LaLiga this season. His contributions have aided Girona in securing second place in the Spanish premier league.
Girona is part of the City Football Group and has players Aleix Garcia and Eric Garcia, who used to play for Manchester City, as well as Yan Couto, currently on loan from Etihad Stadium.
A player from the Brazil Under-20 team who started his professional career with Atletico Mineiro, Savio has primarily played on the left side for Girona.
In the January transfer window, City acquired a young player, Claudio Echeverri, from Argentina to play as an attacking midfielder. He was subsequently loaned back to River Plate for the remainder of 2024.
