Liverpool has been dealt a setback as Trent Alexander-Arnold will not be able to play in the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea. He is expected to be out of action for a number of weeks.
The defender on the right side worsened a previous knee injury that had kept him from playing for three weeks in January. This means that Conor Bradley may be selected to begin the game at Wembley on February 25th.
A specific date for Alexander-Arnold’s likely comeback has not been determined yet. It is uncertain if he will be ready to play in the highly-anticipated match against Manchester City on March 10th.
During Saturday’s 3-1 victory against Burnley, Alexander-Arnold was substituted at half-time due to experiencing discomfort. This was only his second start since returning from injury. In his absence, Curtis Jones filled in as the right-back, as both Joe Gomez and Bradley were unavailable due to illness.
This week, Bradley resumed training after taking time off for personal reasons following his father’s passing. The player from Northern Ireland has not been in a match since his outstanding performance against Chelsea, where he scored one goal and assisted in two more for a 4-1 victory.
Although it was a tough match against Burnley, Liverpool is expected to have Gomez and Alisson back in the lineup for their game against Brentford on Saturday. Additionally, Mohamed Salah, who was previously sidelined with a hamstring injury, has returned to training.
