Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah is back training with the team as he gets closer to recovering from his injury.
Salah has not appeared in any matches for the club since he departed from the Africa Cup of Nations due to a hamstring injury sustained during Egypt’s tie with Ghana on January 18th.
However, the club’s footage displayed the forward returning to the field with his fellow players at their practice facility, along with Joe Gomez, Alisson, and Conor Bradley also participating.
Klopp, the manager of Liverpool, hinted that Salah may make his comeback at the Gtech Community Stadium during the team’s upcoming match against Brentford in the Premier League on Saturday. This was mentioned before their victory over Burnley last weekend.
Klopp stated on Friday that Mo is making progress and heading in the correct path. There is a possibility that he may join training next week, but it is uncertain at this point and we will have to wait and see.
“He is currently completing all the necessary steps and the outlook is optimistic. It will be either next week or the following week. According to him, it will be next week.”
Salah’s comeback would provide a much-needed lift for Liverpool as they strive to maintain their position at the top of the Premier League. Klopp’s team has seen their lead reduced to a mere two points by Manchester City, who still have a match in hand.
Salah, who in December became only the fifth player to tally 200 Liverpool goals, has not played since the German announced that he would be stepping down as manager at the end of the season.
Liverpool is still competing for four titles and will be playing against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final on February 25th at Wembley.
