The manager of Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp, thinks that Jarell Quansah showed his potential by playing a strong game in difficult weather conditions against Bournemouth.
The 20-year-old defender played a key role in the altered Reds’ victory over West Ham in the Carabao Cup quarter-final, showcasing a confident performance in their 2-1 win at Vitality Stadium on Wednesday.
The Under-21 player from England had to face persistent rain and strong winds during his fourth time starting for the Reds, due to the arrival of Storm Ciaran on the southern coast.
Manager Klopp commended the professionalism of his players in overcoming the challenging weather conditions and gave special recognition to centre-back Quansah.
The German stated that he was highly skilled.
Given the current situation, there are numerous challenging factors to consider when trying to determine where the ball will land.
“He performed admirably. During the game, Caoimhin (Kelleher) made a conscious decision to pass him the ball frequently to showcase his abilities.”
“He performed excellently in that situation. Yes, a top-notch performance, without a doubt.”
Quansah made his first appearance for Liverpool against Newcastle at the end of August, after playing on loan at League One team Bristol Rovers during the latter half of last season.
The 20-year-old received the man of the match award from Reds fans for his impressive performance in Dorset, where Darwin Nunez scored a spectacular goal in the 70th minute to secure a spot in the quarter-finals.
Cody Gakpo returned to the starting lineup for the first time since getting injured in a match against Tottenham on September 30. He scored the first goal of the game in the first half. Justin Kluivert also scored his first goal in English football, equalizing for Bournemouth.
Substitute Nunez unleashed an eye-catching effort into the top right corner just 10 minutes after coming off the bench to find the net for the third successive game, earning acclaim from fellow goalscorer Gakpo.
“The Netherlands forward expressed their excitement for the incredible goal to Liverpool’s website.”
I believe that the players are not caught off guard by his skills, as we witness his abilities consistently during practices and matches.
Currently, he is on a successful streak and we are here to back him up. He is also supporting us to maintain this incredible streak for both himself and us.
Kluivert, a Dutch forward, is looking to increase his goal-scoring abilities after scoring his first goal for Bournemouth in his ninth game since joining from Roma in the summer.
The small 24-year-old quickly equalized for the Cherries with a header from a corner by Alex Scott in the 64th minute.
“I am extremely pleased about that,” he stated to afcbtv. “We had to wait for it for a while, but I am glad that it finally happened and I am excited to score even more goals.”
I enjoyed working on the project, as there haven’t been many opportunities like this in my career.
He stated, “I am incredibly proud of the team. We persevered until the very end, but unfortunately they scored a fantastic goal.”
We can focus on the positive aspects and approach our next game (against Manchester City on Saturday) with a positive mindset.
