Cardiff is determined to “pursue justice” and continue with their claim of negligence against Nantes as the fifth anniversary of Emiliano Sala’s death approaches.
On January 21, 2019, Sala passed away in a plane crash over the English Channel while travelling from France. This occurred just two days after Cardiff had officially announced the signing of the 28-year-old Argentine striker from Nantes.
FIFA has instructed Cardiff to pay the £15million transfer fee as they believe Nantes is responsible for the accident that caused Sala’s death. This is due to the fact that the flight was arranged by the French club’s agent.
The football team from the Sky Bet Championship has filed a lawsuit for negligence against Nantes in the French courts.
“Our hearts go out to the family and friends of Emiliano Sala as we near the fifth anniversary of his passing this Sunday,” stated Cardiff on their official website.
We are committed to pursuing justice and resolving our dispute with FC Nantes, in order to thoroughly examine the actions of all parties involved.
Specifically, we are looking for information on the role of unauthorized football agents in the transfer process.
The prosecutor in France has taken action against FC Nantes for using unauthorized football agents, resulting in an indictment.
