The popular Black Friday weekend is coming to an end, but there is still an opportunity to find great deals, especially for your upcoming travel plans.
Excited customers and savvy deal seekers have scoured the sales to discover their desired bargains, taking advantage of a variety of travel deals during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Package providers, airlines, and hotel chains have all reduced prices, making for great value.
Numerous promotions will conclude on Cyber Monday, November 27th, as businesses ranging from BA to Eurostar bring their busiest sales season to a close for another year.
However, for certain businesses, Black Friday marks the start of their sales season. In general, many companies offer incredible bargains on a day known as “Travel Tuesday”, which will occur on November 28th this year. This includes even more cost-effective options for flights, hotel accommodations, and other travel deals from various airlines and operators worldwide, such as Ryanair and Hawaiian Airlines.
Simon Calder, a travel correspondent for The Independent, explains that during the end of November and the first two weeks of December, there is a low season where airlines reduce fares to fill their planes.
If you have been delaying booking your holiday, do not wait any longer. We have all the necessary information to help you take advantage of the sales.
What does Travel Tuesday mean?
Falling the day after Cyber Monday every year, Travel Tuesday is to the travel industry what Cyber Monday is for tech and online deals. It’s a day of travel-only deals and savings, offered by hotel companies, airlines, travel agents and more.
Occasionally referred to as “Travel Deals Tuesday”, this is a relatively new occurrence compared to its Friday and Monday counterparts. It is scheduled to take place on November 28, 2023.
Since this is a trend in the United States, we anticipate finding the most favorable bargains within the country or from US-based businesses. However, it’s important to remain vigilant as there could be unexpected surprises from other regions around the globe.
What kind of bargains can we anticipate?
Currently, Ryanair is the only airline that has announced additional discounts for Tuesday. Starting at midnight, they will be providing a 10% discount on flights between Ireland and the UK.
The Evening Standard has stated that the Hyatt hotel group is currently providing a discount of 20% for stays booked prior to December 5, with travel dates before April 30. Similarly, Virgin Hotels is offering a 30% discount for hotel bookings made until the end of the year.
Although the specific discounts and promotions from other airlines and operators are not yet known, Hopper, a well-known website for booking flights, reports that last year’s savings included discounted flights and accommodations in destinations such as Paris, Tokyo, Bali, Miami, Las Vegas, and The Bahamas.
The website guarantees that numerous travel companies, such as Aer Lingus, Air New Zealand, French Bee, and Singapore Airlines, will be involved.
According to Skyscanner, last year’s offers included a $100 reduction on Aer Lingus flights and a 30% discount on Southwest.
Currently, there are other businesses that are offering sales until November 29th, but it is unknown if there will be any exclusive discounts on Tuesdays. One example is Booking.com, where you can still receive a discount of up to 30% on hotel bookings until the end of 2024.
Suggestions for purchasing on Travel Tuesday
One suggestion is to check for sales on November 27th, as this can allow for price comparisons between Monday and Tuesday, and the deal seen on Tuesday may have already been available during Black Friday weekend.
Always establish a spending limit and make an effort to adhere to it, but also remain open to adjusting dates and destinations in order to maximize savings.
Register to receive notifications from your preferred providers, such as airlines or hotels, and consider booking directly with them whenever feasible. They often provide the greatest cost savings.
