On Sunday (11 February), observe a live feed of the Israel-Gaza border as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel prepares to attack Gaza’s final civilian sanctuary.
Fear rapidly circulated throughout southern Gaza on Saturday following the deaths of at least 44 Palestinians, including several children, due to Israeli airstrikes in Rafah. The citizens are preparing for an expected ground attack on the city.
Rafah, on the southern border with Egypt, is the last remaining refuge for Gaza’s civilian population and one of the only areas yet to be the target of an Israeli ground offensive. It is normally home to around 280,000 people, but currently houses over half of Gaza’s population of 2.3 million.
Many people are crowded into tents, makeshift shelters, schools, or hospital grounds because they have been forced to move multiple times due to Israeli evacuation orders during the four-month-long military campaign in Gaza.
