A residence exploded in a massive blast following the discharge of a flare gun by a suspect at a location in Virginia.
On Monday evening (December 4), members of the Arlington County Police Department were conducting a search when the suspect ignited a fire. This was followed by a large explosion.
According to a spokesperson for the police, investigators suspect that the perpetrator was present inside the home during the explosion.
The authorities have not been able to access the residence and cannot verify the status of the suspect.
Authorities verified that three law enforcement officers sustained minor wounds. No individuals were transported to a medical facility.
