The post-mortem examination of a family of four in Norfolk revealed that both adults died from stab wounds to the neck, while tributes were given to one of the girls.
On Friday morning, a member of the public contacted the police regarding concerns for the well-being of individuals inside a property in Costessey, near Norwich. Upon arrival, authorities discovered the deceased bodies of a man, woman, and two young girls.
Police officers arrived at approximately 7:15am and entered the residence on Allan Bedford Crescent by force. They discovered the deceased bodies of a 45-year-old man, a 36-year-old woman, and two children. All of the individuals had sustained injuries.
Autopsies conducted on Sunday revealed that the 45-year-old male and 36-year-old female both passed away due to being stabbed in the neck. The corpses of the two young girls will undergo examination on Wednesday.
People who were familiar with the family informed Sky News on Sunday that the occurrence was a complete surprise to those residing in the vicinity.
Nina Crisan expressed her complete shock and devastation to the broadcasters.
This is a tightly-knit community where even if we are not personally acquainted, we still have some level of familiarity through our children or interactions during dog walks.
Ms. Crisan was familiar with one of the children and described her as an extremely kind and pleasant girl.
“She exuded a peaceful and collected aura, as my son would put it,” she shared with Sky News. “She was simply a wonderful, wonderful, wonderful child.”
A different young man, who is familiar with the girl, shared with Sky News without revealing his identity: “We were childhood friends. She never harbored resentment, she always showed kindness and compassion to everyone.”
He stated, “I never took the time to consider what my final words to her would be.”
Someone else stated: “In the past, she would often spend time with my younger sibling at the park and make sure she was safe. This is a tragedy for everyone in our community.”
On Friday, Norfolk Constabulary announced that it had followed standard procedure and reported itself to the Independent Office of Police Conduct (IOPC) regarding a previous instance of police involvement at the residence on December 14. This involvement pertained to an investigation into a missing person.
On Saturday, it was revealed that the police force made a second standard report to the watchdog. This was done after detectives discovered a 999 call made at 6am on Friday morning by a man at the same location.
The police did not send any resources to the location after receiving the emergency call.
Autopsies will be conducted on all four deceased individuals in order to determine the reasons for their deaths. According to reports, the man has been identified as Bartlomiej Kuczynski.
An autopsy will be conducted on Sunday for the adult victims, while the girls will be officially identified on Wednesday. Detectives have stated that they will not disclose the victims’ identities until they have been formally identified.
Police are conducting extra rounds in the Queen’s Hill neighborhood on Saturday, while detectives continue to look into the fatalities.
Investigators have been conducting door-to-door investigations, interviewing witnesses, and are still analyzing nearby surveillance footage.
Detective Chief Inspector Chris Burgess stated that they have interviewed witnesses and neighbors, conducted door-to-door investigations, reviewed CCTV footage from the area, and completed initial investigations at the scene.
This means that we are not seeking any other individuals in connection with the incident.
The force representative stated that a second report has been submitted to the IOPC today after a 999 call was made yesterday at 6am by a man at the specified location and police personnel were not sent.
The IOPC will review the details of the call and decide on the necessary level of inquiry.
Therefore, we will not release any additional information regarding the details of this call at this moment.
