Donald Trump is laying the ground to claim election fraud again in 2024, baselessly suggesting in his New Year’s message that the Biden administration is allowing immigrants to enter the US to vote.
“Before the New Year arrives, I want to send early well wishes to Crooked Joe Biden and his team of Radical Left Misfits & Thugs. They continue to make endless efforts to destroy our nation through Lawfare, Invasion, and Rigging Elections,” stated Mr. Trump on the afternoon of December 30.
“He stated that they are currently rushing to enroll numerous individuals who are entering our country illegally, with the intention of having them prepared to vote in the 2024 presidential election.”
Donald Trump wrote a New Year’s message, followed by a post after midnight on Saturday. In the post, he stated, “It’s becoming increasingly clear to me why the ‘Crazed’ Democrats are permitting millions of unvetted migrants into our country, which was once great.”
“THEY ARE ENCOURAGING VOTING, VOTING, VOTING. They are quickly enrolling them without knowing their identities. It now becomes clear. Republicans must take action before it’s too late. Is Mitch McConnell paying attention?” he questioned the leader of the Senate’s Republican party.
Joyce Alene, a legal analyst for NBC, stated on X that Trump is getting ready to assert that the 2024 election was taken from him if he is defeated.
Professor Brian Klaas, who teaches Global Politics at University College London, stated that the recent claims are false and could potentially be used as an excuse to gain control if the president experiences another defeat. He co-authored a book titled “How to Manipulate an Election” which discusses the weaknesses in the US election system such as gerrymandering, voter suppression, and financial regulations. Despite these flaws, Klaas believes that voter registration and vote counting processes are well-established.
Writer of former House of Commons clerk Eliot Wilson wrote on X that “Trump, because he’s not especially sharp, can’t help but act in a way that is really obvious and transparent. But the cultists don’t care”.
The advisor for the Lincoln Project, Trygve Olson, stated that if Mr Trump were to win the Electoral College but lose the popular vote, he could potentially use this situation to activate the insurrection act and declare martial law.
