Passengers on a Thai AirAsia flight from Bangkok to Phuket were shocked and angered when they discovered a snake in the cabin’s overhead compartment.
As a result of the finding, certain individuals chose to relocate from the seats near the snake, while others used their phones to film the animal. A TikTok post of the occurrence, uploaded by a user under the username @wannabnailssalon, has accumulated more than 3.4 million views since its publication.
On January 13th, passengers on an AirAsia Airbus A320 flight observed a small snake slithering on the cabin lights above the overhead storage compartment.
A member of the cabin crew allegedly attempted to trap the snake in a disposable plastic water bottle. The snake was then placed into a garbage bag with the help of a plastic bottle.
The origin of the snake’s presence on the aircraft was not immediately apparent.
The snake was discovered while the plane was getting ready to touch down at Phuket airport.
After the aircraft landed, it underwent a thorough search. According to reports, no additional snakes were discovered.
Several TikTok users compared the scenario to the plot of the 2006 action film “Snakes on a Plane.” The movie, directed by David R Ellis and starring Samuel L Jackson, depicts an FBI agent who must protect a witness on a flight after criminals unleash poisonous snakes, leading to chaos.
The Independent has contacted AirAsia for a statement.
