The performer who played the famous ‘The Unknown’ role in the Willy Wonka attraction in Glasgow has been revealed to be a 16-year-old actress on her debut acting gig.
Felicia, a teenager from Glasgow, posted a video on TikTok to disclose her identity following the widespread attention she received for her involvement in a hilariously bad event.
Enraged parents requested reimbursements for the event, which had a cost of £35 per person and promised an interactive tour of a chocolate factory.
But, upon the arrival of the children, they were greeted with a mostly vacant warehouse.
In the story, a strange new character, The Unknown, was introduced, but there was no chocolate to be found.
The narrative surrounding this unsettling persona states that they are a malevolent confectioner who lurks within the walls of the factory.
A popular video is circulating which depicts a figure wearing a dark cloak and silver mask, emerging from behind a mirror to the dismay of a group of children.
A parent who went to the event recounted the experience of The Unknown, a chrome-masked figure who caused many children to become scared to the point of tears.
16-year-old Felicia revealed her identity as the mysterious figure known as The Unknown on TikTok, putting an end to days of speculation and discussions among social media users.
“When I initially read the script, I didn’t like it,” she expressed. “As many of you are aware, I am only 16 and this was my very first paid acting opportunity.”
I was feeling anxious, but the actors were incredibly friendly and welcomed me into their group.
She stated that the House of Illuminati, the event’s organizers, initially approached her to portray Wonka, but she was eventually given the role of The Unknown on Saturday morning.
“On the day of the event, we were instructed to patch the script and improvise, with the only direction being to act creepy.”
“I attempted to envision the characteristics of a person residing within walls.”
In regards to the popular video, Felicia remarked, “Opinions were divided – some enjoyed it, some despised it, and some were deeply affected by it. I, myself, was among those who were confused by it.”
Stuart Sinclair, who made a two-hour journey with his family to attend the event, stated to The Independent: “It was truly disturbing.”
However, the entire cast put forth their utmost effort. Sadly, these actors were all hired as subcontractors by Illuminati and have not yet received payment for their work.
“They were just as surprised as we were, but it may have been even more difficult for them since it reflects on their job and made them appear incompetent despite not being at fault.”
“I’m surprised that the event didn’t meet people’s expectations based on what was advertised,” said Billy Coull, who runs House of Illuminati, a company that specializes in immersive events.
“I deeply apologize that my artistic interpretation of a famous book did not materialize as planned.”
