The Met Office has released an amber warning for London and South East England due to anticipated flooding and disruption caused by heavy morning rain.
A warning was sent out on Wednesday between 6:13am and 8am for areas in Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Portsmouth, and Southampton.
According to the weather service’s alert, bus and train operations may experience disruptions, including delays and possible cancellations.
The meteorologist predicted that there is a high chance of 30 to 40mm of rain, with certain areas receiving up to 70 to 80mm, primarily over the Isle of Wight. They also warned of potential disruptions and possible flooding for some residences and establishments.
The intense rainfall may result in power outages and disruptions to other services for households and businesses.
A distinct yellow warning has been issued for rainfall starting at 6pm on Tuesday and lasting until 10am on Wednesday. Additionally, a separate warning for fog in northern areas is also in effect for other regions of the country.
