Newly-released legal documents have revealed that over 100 individuals, including Prince Andrew and Bill Clinton, have been linked to the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The initial release of court documents reveals the identities of those affected, as well as acquaintances of the perpetrator and Ghislaine Maxwell. However, some individuals may not have a direct connection to Epstein.
A wealthy financial figure, known for socializing with prominent individuals, was charged with orchestrating a vast operation involving underage girls for sexual purposes. He took his own life in his prison cell before his trial in 2019.
In 2015, Maxwell was involved in a defamation lawsuit, and the legal documents pertaining to this case were made public on Wednesday by order of a judge.
The Independent is currently reviewing additional documents that were unsealed on Friday, but the second batch of documents released on Thursday evening did not provide any significant new information and mostly contained names that had already been disclosed.
Being listed in these records does not imply any illegal behavior associated with Epstein or others. The roster consists of numerous individuals who have accused Epstein and claimed to be his victims, as well as those with indirect ties to Epstein who were involved in the legal case against Maxwell.
The documents include a well-known allegation that Prince Andrew touched Johanna Sjoberg inappropriately (which he has denied), and also mention former US presidents Bill Clinton and Donald Trump, both of whom are not accused of any wrongdoing.
Judges, court employees, and legal representatives are excluded.
