The younger brother of the Princess of Wales has offered words of encouragement, pledging to stand by his sister following her diagnosis of cancer.
James Middleton, 36, shared a nostalgic childhood photo of himself and Kate on Instagram, mentioning how they have overcome numerous challenges together.
“We, as a family, will also climb this one with you.”
His personal message of support came just hours after the 42-year-old mother-of-three confirmed she is undergoing preventative chemotherapy treatment.
During a recorded video statement, she expressed that the news was a “big surprise” when it was discovered after her significant abdominal surgery in January.
“We cannot disclose the type of cancer, but the queen-to-be has stated that she is feeling positive and improving every day.”
Her 58-year-old uncle, Gary Goldsmith, withdrew from the finale of Celebrity Big Brother after the announcement was made.
“I will not be attending the Celebrity Big Brother finale tonight,” he stated in a post on X, previously referred to as Twitter.
I wish to express my sincere gratitude to my fellow roommates and all those involved in creating this outstanding production.
“I wish you all a wonderful evening.”
Leaders from across the political spectrum have shown compassion for Kate and denounced the “harsh scrutiny” that Prime Minister Rishi Sunak deemed she has endured from social media and various news outlets worldwide.
Lord David Cameron, the Foreign Secretary said in a post on X, formerly Twitter: “The strength of the princess – speaking so frankly, with all the pressures of publicity and bringing up a young family – is remarkable and is rightly admired around the world.”
In a subsequent announcement, the pair expressed gratitude towards the community for their backing and stated they were deeply touched by the abundance of kindness they have received.
The video message, which was recorded in Windsor on Wednesday, was released on the same day that William and Kate’s three children began their Easter school holidays. This was done in order to protect the children from media coverage of their mother’s health during their break.
The duration of Kate’s treatment is uncertain, but she may be interested in attending events at her own discretion, following medical guidance. However, this does not necessarily mean she will resume full-time duties.
William will continue to juggle his responsibilities of being there for his wife and family while also fulfilling his official duties, just as he has been doing since her surgery.
After the Easter holiday, the prince will resume his public duties once his children go back to school.
