Travelers’ Christmas plans have been ruined as Pontins unexpectedly shut down two locations.
Unfortunately, the holiday camp company, which was ranked as the worst in the UK for 2022, has shut down their locations in Prestatyn, north Wales, and Camber Sands in East Sussex.
The company’s website announced that their parks in Prestatyn and Camber Sands will be shutting down immediately. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
“Our team will reach out to customers whose reservations will be impacted by these closures and provide refunds. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.”
The local Member of Parliament, James Davies, stated that the location in Prestatyn Sands has had a negative reputation for a considerable amount of time.
The person stated that they have confirmed with the Home Office that there are no plans to use the location for housing asylum seekers.
I am thinking of all the employees who have been impacted by the closure.
In 2022, Which? Magazine rated Pontin’s as the worst among 19 holiday camps reviewed, while Norfork-based Potters Resorts was named the top choice.
The magazine gave ratings from one to five for cleanliness, quality of accommodation, customer service, facilities, entertainment, food and drink, and value for money.
Pontin’s received a score of 59%, with its accommodations being awarded two stars for quality, as well as its entertainment and value for money.
In May, the equality regulator initiated a formal inquiry into Pontins vacation parks regarding ongoing worries that it is exhibiting discrimination against Gypsy and Traveller visitors by denying reservations based on their names.
