The police reported that a suspect in Tennessee, who is accused of fatally shooting three women and a teenage girl and critically injuring another teenager at three different places on Saturday, died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot.
The police stated that they believed each of the shootings was related to a domestic violence incident.
Officers from the Memphis Police Department were dispatched to a call about a shooting at 9:22pm on Howard Drive, in the 100 block. Upon arrival, authorities discovered a female victim with a visible gunshot injury. Sadly, she was declared deceased at the location.
The authorities concluded that two other deadly shootings were related. On Field Lark Drive, a 13-year-old girl and a woman were fatally shot, while a 15-year-old girl was critically injured. A separate incident on Warrington Road resulted in the death of another woman, according to Christopher Williams, a spokesperson for the Memphis police.
Authorities stated that they suspect the individual responsible for the shootings is also responsible for other incidents and have initiated a manhunt for Mavis Christian Jr.
The Memphis police reported that the search involved local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.
During the search, authorities discovered the lifeless body of a 52-year-old man in his vehicle, apparently from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
