Will the Conservative party retain control in 2024? Is Sir Keir Starmer set to become the next Prime Minister of the UK? What are the key topics that will shape the upcoming election? And when can we expect to vote this year?
There is a lot of speculation surrounding the 2024 general election – and we are interested in hearing your forecasts.
On Monday, Rishi Sunak disregarded the importance of a negative poll that suggests the Tories may face a defeat similar to that of 1997.
A study, requested by Conservative party supporters in collaboration with staunch Brexit advocate David Frost, indicates that the Conservative party is at risk of a humiliating loss, with several high-ranking MPs likely to be voted out of their positions.
According to a YouGov survey of 14,000 individuals, the Conservative Party may only hold onto 169 seats, while the Labour Party could gain control with 385 seats, resulting in a significant 120-seat majority for Sir Keir Starmer.
Sir Keir has cautioned Labour MPs that the Conservative prime minister may potentially announce a sudden general election in the upcoming spring.
The leader of the Labour party instructed his supporters to prepare for campaigning in the coming months, despite Mr. Sunak’s desire to delay elections until later in the year.
During the Monday night meeting with his MPs at the Parliamentary Labour Party (PLP), Sir Keir cautioned against a possibly negative election campaign and promised to combat it aggressively.
In the coming months, whether it be in May or November, we will be heading to voting locations throughout the country.
