At the start of New Year’s Eve, Donald Trump shared previous positive remarks from former employees who are now critics by posting screenshots of their old tweets on Truth Social.
Alyssah Farah, former Communications Director for the Trump White House, departed from the administration in December 2020 due to her disillusionment with Mr. Trump. She has since become a conservative commentator on cable news and is currently one of the co-hosts on The View at 34 years old.
Sarah Matthews, aged 28, was named the Deputy Press Secretary for the White House in June 2020. She resigned on January 6, 2021, coinciding with the Capitol riot. She subsequently gave a testimony to the January 6 House Select Committee.
Cassidy Hutchinson, a former staffer for Trump’s Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, was a key witness for the panel. The 27-year-old supported some of the most shocking reports of Mr. Trump’s actions during the insurrection.
Both Ms Hutchinson and Ms Matthews publicly appeared before the January 6 committee – all three worked with the committee and also appeared on ABC’s This Week on New Year’s Eve, cautioning about potential events in a second Trump presidency.
“Essentially, if Trump is re-elected, it could result in the downfall of American democracy as we currently understand it. I do not make this statement lightly,” stated Ms. Griffin in an interview with ABC. “We have all seen him attempt to manipulate a democratic election in the past and go to extreme and unconstitutional measures to do so.”
She expressed that this demonstrates his determination to surpass any obstacles in order to gain and maintain control. However, I also have worries about the potential outcome of his leadership.
Ms. Matthews stated to ABC that there is no need for speculation about a potential second term for Trump, as we have already witnessed it. She pointed out that he continues to insist that the election was rigged and has become increasingly unstable in his rhetoric. She also mentioned his disturbing suggestions of disregarding parts of the Constitution and using the Department of Justice to seek retribution against his opponents.
Ms. Hutchinson stated that the individual’s desire to embrace dictatorial behavior is a clear indication of their weakness and lack of strength, character, integrity, and leadership skills.
The Trump administration issued a message to ABC, accusing them of being “unappreciative opportunists” who took advantage of the opportunities provided by President Trump and betrayed him like Judas.
On New Year’s Eve, Mr. Trump dedicated over a dozen posts on Truth Social to bashing the women who had praised him on social media, including Ms. Farah and Ms. Matthews.
The previous leader’s attention on previous acclaim from individuals cautioning about potential consequences if he regains authority arose following his weekend activities of promoting unfounded conspiracy theories about Democrats manipulating the 2024 election through illegal immigration.
“As the New Year rapidly approaches, I would like to extend an early New Year’s greeting to Crooked Joe Biden and his group of Radical Left Misfits & Thugs for their relentless efforts to undermine our nation through Lawfare, Invasion, and Election Rigging,” stated Mr. Trump on the afternoon of December 30th.
He stated that they are currently rushing to register as many of the millions of individuals they are unlawfully permitting into our nation, so that they can participate in the 2024 presidential election.
Mr Trump’s New Year’s screed followed a previous post just after midnight early on Saturday, in which he wrote, “It’s becoming more and more obvious to me why the ‘Crazed’ Democrats are allowing millions and millions of totally unvetted migrants into our once great Country”.
“They are being registered to vote at a rapid rate, without proper verification of their identities. This realization is concerning and Republicans must take action before it’s too late. Is Mitch McConnell paying attention?” inquired the individual to the Senate Republican leader.
