NWS meteorologists brave heavy snow in Iowa to leave office

On Sunday (January 14), a video posted on X/Twitter showed meteorologists from the National Weather Service (NWS) in Quad Cities having to clear a path through five feet of snow drifts in order to launch a weather balloon.

Millions of people in the US were under warnings for wind chill, snow, and freezing conditions.

According to NWS Quad Cities, frigid weather was forecasted to persist until Tuesday morning, with wind speeds reaching 15 to 20mph and temperatures dropping below zero.
