Nigel Farage has engaged in a heated exchange with ITV’s director of television, claiming that he has created a hostile environment and cautioning him against further conflict.
After departing from I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!, the ex-Ukip and Brexit Party leader alleged that he was intentionally censored by ITV. He also stated that the network intentionally cut down on his screen time and purposely showed footage of him in the nude.
During his return to GB News, he briefly mentioned that while he was away, certain individuals at ITV were trying to make things difficult for him.
I do not wish to diminish the positive feeling I have after participating in I’m a Celebrity. I have no negative feedback for the production team or anyone involved in the show. However, I would like to address Mr. Kevin Lygo, the ITV boss, and leave the decision in your hands.
“I am willing to engage in a conflict with you if you choose to do so. However, it should be noted that the previous individual who attempted this, Dame Alison Rose from NatWest Bank, faced consequences.”
According to reports, Mr. Lygo is accused of making an offensive hand gesture towards Mr. Farage at the ITV Palooza event in November 2023. The event was attended by well-known figures such as Susanna Reid and Lorraine Kelly.
During his performance, he reportedly mentioned a sign language interpreter and stated, “I am not familiar with sign language, but I do know the sign for Nigel Farage.”
He reassured, “Do not fret, he is aware that he must return from Australia in a small boat.”
In response, Mr. Farage stated, “I am willing to overlook your impolite, single-handed actions and the pitiful efforts of your employees to deceive me.”
“I am willing to let go of everything if we can agree to a truce. However, if you truly insist on going to battle with me, I doubt it will positively impact the ITV share price. Therefore, let us put an end to this foolishness and do so immediately.”
Approximately £840 million was lost from the value of NatWest’s shares when Dame Alison confessed to revealing information about Mr. Farage’s Coutts bank account to the BBC.
The previous manager was compelled to step down following a “significant lapse in judgement” and forfeited £7.6million worth of stocks and bonuses that she would have otherwise received.
Reworded: After receiving a payment of £1.5m, Mr. Farage caused controversy by joining the jungle. He ultimately finished in third place, behind boxer Tony Bellew and reality star and winner Sam Thompson.
Some are speculating that his appearance on the ITV program may lead him to consider returning to British politics. Recent reports suggest that some Conservative Members of Parliament believe he and Boris Johnson could potentially improve the party’s poll numbers.
During an interview on Good Morning Britain on Monday, he stated: “I cannot make any promises. It’s impossible for me to anticipate what the future holds.”
Nevertheless, he rejected the notion of rejoining the Conservatives with Rishi Sunak as their leader, stating that he is a “lame duck walking”.
I am observing a disorganized Conservative government that is facing a critical vote tomorrow on a matter that impacts every individual in our country – immigration at a scale not seen since Tony Blair’s tenure.
He stated that Rishi is a weak and ineffective leader and that the Conservative party is on track for a complete failure.
ITV and Nigel Farage have been requested for a statement.
