Newly released documents in New York revealed images of Ghislaine Maxwell on Jeffrey Epstein’s private island, where the convicted child abuser resided before his death.
On Monday evening, Judge Loretta Preska ordered the unsealing of a large number of documents in the settled legal dispute between Maxwell and Virginia Giuffre. This resulted in thousands of pages being made public.
On Monday, some documents were made public which included pictures taken by Sarah Ransome, a victim of Epstein. These photos were requested by Maxwell and Giuffre’s lawyers as part of the discovery process. Additionally, sections of Ms Ransome’s 2016 deposition, in which she provided a statement about her experience as a victim, were also revealed. This occurred before Maxwell’s sentencing for sex trafficking in 2021.
The unposed photographs displayed Maxwell with a smile or in a surprised state. According to reports, they were captured on Little St James Island, also known as “Pedophile Island” to the media, where his victims allege he ran a sex trafficking operation.
Ms Giuffre’s lawyers presented the photos as evidence of Maxwell’s participation in sex trafficking and abuse. Ms Ransome further described the widespread mistreatment that young girls experienced at Little St James.
According to the transcript of her deposition referenced by Ms Giuffre’s attorneys, Ms Ransome stated that there was a continuous flow of girls and a high number of girls, specifically in Miami. She also compared the conversation among the girls to that of a brothel, where the topic of who will have sex with whom is a common discussion due to the frequent rotation of sexual activity. Ms Ransome questioned what else there is to talk about when sex is the only thing happening every day.
Ms Ransome referred to Maxwell as Epstein’s primary female associate.
The sections were marked by a company representing Alan Dershowitz, Epstein’s lawyer, to show that Ms. Ransome lacks credibility. Other accusations made by Ms. Ransome that were brought up on Monday included discredited claims that Bill Clinton, Prince Andrew, and billionaire Richard Branson engaged in sexual activities with young women and were recorded by Epstein.
During an interview for a 2019 article in The New Yorker, Ms. Ransome confessed that she fabricated the tapes in order to bring attention to Epstein’s actions and to make him believe that she had incriminating evidence that would be released if he harmed her.
According to a spokesperson for Mr. Branson, the allegations made by Sarah Ransome have no basis and are unsupported.
Additional court records and identities are anticipated to be made public in the upcoming days.
The fact that the person is mentioned in the legal papers does not necessarily imply their participation or knowledge of Epstein’s misconduct.
