A recent lawsuit alleges that musician Tommy Lee sexually assaulted a woman in the cockpit of a helicopter in 2003.
According to documents obtained by TMZ, the unidentified woman has accused the drummer of Motley Crue of assaulting her by forcibly groping, kissing, and penetrating her with his fingers, and trying to coerce her into performing oral sex.
The lawsuit alleges that pilot David Martz enticed the plaintiff onto a flight with drummer Mr. Lee in February 2003, as reported by the media source. The plaintiff has stated that both men were consuming alcohol and drugs during the episode.
The woman in the legal case stated that she had met Mr. Martz, a pilot, one year prior in San Diego. She alleged that he then invited her for a helicopter ride for a tour of the area.
The woman stated that upon arrival for the trip, Mr. Martz informed her of a sudden alteration in plans, stating that they would be bringing Mr. Lee to Los Angeles instead.
According to TMZ, the complaint stated that shortly after taking off, Martz retrieved alcohol that he had stored in the helicopter and began making drinks.
The woman stated that she was instructed to “calm down” before being instructed to sit on Mr. Lee’s lap. She also alleges that both men were consuming cocaine, marijuana, and alcohol during the flight.
The woman reported feeling under significant pressure and stated that as soon as she reached the front of the aircraft, Mr. Lee began to touch and kiss her. She later alleged that his actions became more aggressive.
According to TMZ, the legal document claimed that “Lee proceeded to lower his pants and try to coerce the plaintiff into performing oral sex. The plaintiff was crying at this point, but had no means of escape as she was confined and unable to move from the cockpit.”
According to the complaint, Mr. Martz simply observed and did not say anything to her after he dropped off Mr. Lee and flew the woman back to San Diego.
According to the lawsuit, the woman did not have contact with Mr. Martz for a number of years after the incident. He passed away in 2015 due to a plane crash.
According to TMZ, the woman experienced significant shock, distress, humiliation, shame, and guilt due to the incident and alleged sexual assault. She did not report the incident at first because she doubted the police would believe her.
In addition to Mr. Lee, the woman has listed Mayhem Touring, Tommy Lee Inc., A Natural High Helicopters, and Social Helicopters as defendants.
The Daily Beast reported that before his passing, Mr Martz had his pilot’s license revoked three times, the most recent being in 2009 due to a situation where he engaged in oral sex with an adult film actress while flying his helicopter.
The Independent has reached out to representatives of Tommy Lee for a response.
