What is happening in Michigan?
On February 27th, Michigan Republicans participated in a primary. However, the majority of delegates will be granted after congressional district caucuses on Saturday, due to a conflict within the leadership of the GOP in the Granite State.
According to NBC News, Pete Hoekstra has been approved to lead the state’s GOP and will preside over a convention in Grand Rapids. Meanwhile, Kristina Karamo, the former party chair who was removed from her position, had plans to chair another convention in Detroit.
Republican organizations in two out of the 13 congressional districts were also preparing to host their own conventions during this upcoming weekend.
However, two individuals closely connected to Ms Karamo informed NBC News on Friday that her convention had been cancelled.
Ms Karamo uploaded a video on X, encouraging her supporters to continue their efforts and follow the recommendation of their district chair.
Jason Cabel Roe, a Republican strategist from Michigan, informed NBC that delegates have been receiving contradictory and perplexing emails for several weeks. These emails have been promoting various agendas, featuring different staff members, and advertising different conventions.
He emphasized the need to carefully monitor and identify the sender, as well as ensuring the authenticity of instructions and events.
During an aid announcement, Biden mistakenly mentioned Gaza instead of Ukraine on two occasions.
Mr Biden stated that they plan to collaborate with their friends in Jordan and other parties to facilitate airdrops of extra resources and provisions into Ukraine. They also aim to explore other options for entering Ukraine, such as a potential maritime route for delivering a significant amount of humanitarian aid.
Twice during an official announcement about aid, Joe Biden mistakenly refers to Gaza instead of Ukraine.
The Republican Party in the House of Representatives has decided not to obscure the identities of those involved in the January 6th riots in the surveillance footage.
Following the announcement that the individuals involved in the January 6 riot would have their faces obscured in order to prevent potential prosecution by the US Department of Justice, Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson seemed to change his stance on Friday, citing delays.
In December, Mr Johnson acknowledged that House Republicans were providing protection to individuals who entered the US Capitol, stating that it was necessary to conceal some faces in order to prevent retaliation from the DOJ and potential legal consequences for those involved in the events of that day.
The office announced on Friday that they will not blur out the faces of the rioters in the 5,000 hours of raw footage that was released. This decision was made due to the challenges and time constraints involved in blurring the faces, and the priority of completing the work in a responsible and timely manner.

Haley urges for Trump’s legal issues to be addressed before November.
Nikki Haley, the final contender from the Republican Party to challenge Donald Trump in the 2024 primary election, has urged for the resolution of all his court cases before the upcoming November election.
The previous governor of South Carolina has not yet won a state primary or caucus. She recently appeared on NBC News’ Meet the Press following a significant loss in Michigan, and stated that she believes all pending cases should be addressed before November.
“We must have knowledge of future events prior to the presidency, as afterwards, if the candidate is elected, I doubt that any of our concerns will be taken into account,” she stated.

Could North Carolina potentially change to a Democratic majority in the 2024 election?
Ariana Baio writes:
It is predicted that Joe Biden, the expected Democratic nominee, will win North Carolina for the Democrats by a slim margin of less than 1%.
The shift from red to purple in North Carolina has become increasingly noticeable. In the last election, Mr Trump only managed to win the state by a slim margin of 1.3 percent. In the 2022 midterms, Republicans narrowly managed to secure a Senate seat with a victory margin of just 3.2 percent.
The legislature is currently in the hands of the Republicans, while the governor is a Democrat. As the majority of voters are evenly divided between the two parties, neither can risk losing any support.

A previous member of the Obama administration asserts that a famine in Gaza is unavoidable unless the US applies pressure on Israel to permit humanitarian aid.
A past member of the Obama administration has cautioned that Gaza will face famine unless President Joe Biden takes swift action to urge Israel to allow all aid deliveries into the region.
Jeremy Konyndyk served as the head of USAID’s Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance for a period of three years. During his time there, he focused on efforts to prevent famine in countries like Yemen and South Sudan. According to Konyndyk, the most crucial step in preventing famine in Gaza would be for Israel to grant full access to aid organizations. Unfortunately, Israel has been resistant to this.

The government will remain operational until March 8th thanks to the continuing resolution.
