Robert Hur states that he did not censor his remarks about Biden’s memory in the special report.
This week brings another round of primary elections in Georgia, Mississippi, Washington, and Hawaii. All of these states are holding Republican nominating contests, and all except for Hawaii are also holding Democratic nominations. It is anticipated that both President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump will secure their positions as the nominees for their respective parties.
Meanwhile, transcripts of Mr Biden’s two-day interview with Department of Justice investigators reveal that he had a much more accurate memory of past events than described in the report released by Special Counsel Robert Hur.
The transcripts of the October 2023 interviews take up 268 pages and show a more detailed picture of Mr Biden’s capabilities than was written by Mr Hur, the former Trump administration appointee who Attorney General Merrick Garland brought on as a special counsel to investigate how classified documents ended up at Mr Biden’s former Washington, DC office and his Wilmington, Delaware home.
This comes as Mr Hur testified before the House Judiciary Committee today after releasing the scathing and much-criticised report.
Last Tuesday, a committee from the US House of Representatives conducted a hearing on a three-year-old unresolved enigma: The pipe bombs that were planted on January 6th outside of the buildings of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and the Republican National Committee (RNC) in Washington, DC.

“We acknowledge your presence and we are actively listening to what you have to say. That is sufficient.” Jon Stewart humorously ridicules Katie Britt’s State of the Union response on Tuesday.
Ms Britt, who was chosen to deliver the Republican Party’s response to the president, sat at her kitchen table and condemned Mr Biden on a series of issues, even saying that the “American Dream” is becoming a “nightmare.”

Buck details the motivation behind departing from Congress.
Colorado Representative Ken Buck explained his decision to leave Congress next week, stating that he has no intention of running for president (despite widespread dissatisfaction with both Trump and Biden). Instead, he believes his efforts would be better focused on participating in the upcoming election. Although his departure will reduce the Republican majority in the House, he believes it will ultimately benefit the party as he has chosen to separate from them.
He also stated, “We have turned impeachment into a topic for social media rather than focusing on its constitutional significance. This constantly declining environment is not a place where I want to invest more time.”
It has been announced that the United States will be sending a $300 million package of weapons to Ukraine.
Gustaf Kilander reports:

Congressman Ken Buck will depart from his role in Congress next week, leading to a smaller Republican majority in the House of Representatives.
Ken Buck, a representative from Colorado, has declared that he will not run for another term and will be resigning from Congress in the coming week.
He will be leaving, causing the Republican majority in the House of Representatives to decrease to only five seats.
In case you missed it, Trump is exerting increased control over the Republican National Committee.

New information revealed regarding Biden’s recollection of his son Beau’s passing in the special counsel’s transcript.
Andrew Feinberg reports:
President Joe Biden’s interview with Department of Justice investigators, spanning two days, revealed a much more precise and commanding recollection of past events compared to the description given by Special Counsel Robert Hur in his report.
The Independent obtained transcripts of interviews conducted on October 8 and 9 at the White House. These interviews took place one day after the terror attacks on Israel by Hamas on October 7.
The documents consist of 268 pages and provide a more complex view of Mr Biden’s abilities compared to Mr Hur’s portrayal. Mr Hur, a previous appointee in the Trump administration, was hired by Attorney General Merrick Garland as a special counsel to look into the origin of classified documents found at Mr Biden’s former Washington, DC office and his home in Wilmington, Delaware.
The controversial Florida legislation known as the ‘Don’t Say Gay’ law has been revised to remove what was deemed as its most harmful and prejudiced effects.
Alex Woodward reports:
The Governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, implemented a signature policy that has been replicated by other states, but cannot be used to limit discussions about gender identity and sexual orientation in schools.
Two years after a group of Florida families and LGBT+ civil rights groups sued the state over what opponents have called the “Don’t Say Gay” law, the DeSantis administration reached a settlement on Monday that strips the law’s “most dangerous and discriminatory” impacts, according to plaintiffs.

“This meeting could have been a message.”
Alyssa Farah Griffin, who went from working for Trump to co-hosting The View, offered the most concise overview of the Robert Hur hearing this morning.
She posted on Twitter: “He continues to support his report, he chooses not to overstep his boundaries and make judgments about Biden’s mental capability, he acknowledges the significant contrasts between Biden’s and Trump’s cases. He hopes that everyone would handle classified information more responsibly. This hearing could have been communicated via email.”
According to Hur, the report does not clear Biden of any wrongdoing.
Schiff alleges that Hur made a “political decision” by retaining specific language about Biden in the report.
