According to officials, over 144 individuals were wounded and an undisclosed amount were trapped under debris. A hospital for expecting mothers, residential complexes, and educational facilities were among the structures affected by the destruction.

Ten people died in a city near the Russian border.

According to emergency services, 10 individuals were killed and 45 were injured due to shelling in the downtown area of Belgorod, a city located on the Russian border.

Russian officials accused Kyiv of carrying out the attack the day after an 18-hour aerial Russian barrage across Ukraine killed at least 39 civilians.

On social media, there were photos of Belgorod that depicted burning cars and thick black smoke emerging from damaged structures, accompanied by the blaring of air raid alarms.

A single blow landed near a popular ice skating rink in the center of the urban area.

Ukrainian authorities have never accepted culpability for assaults on Russian land or Crimea, however, in the past, more significant aerial attacks on Russia have occurred after intense assaults on Ukrainian cities.

Two minors die in attack by Ukraine on Russian territory.

According to regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov, a Ukrainian attack on the center of the Russian provincial capital of Belgorod resulted in the deaths of two children and injuries to multiple individuals on Saturday.

Gladkov reported that a neighborhood was targeted, and in a message on Telegram, advised all inhabitants to seek shelter in air raid facilities as warning sirens blared. A photo shared by Kommersant depicted thick black smoke billowing from the urban area.

Throughout the year, the Belgorod region, located near the northern border of Ukraine, has experienced shelling and drone attacks, similar to other Russian border areas. Authorities have attributed these incidents to Ukraine.

It is uncommon for Ukraine to take responsibility for attacks within its neighboring country.

The UK estimates that by 2025, there will be over 500,000 Russian casualties in Ukraine.

The UK predicts that if the current rate of casualties continues, more than 500,000 Russian personnel will have been killed or injured in their invasion of Ukraine by 2025.

According to the most recent update from Defence Intelligence, the average daily number of injured or deceased troops in the country has increased by nearly 300 per day in 2023 compared to the previous year.

The recent report stated that the rise likely signifies the decline of Russia’s military capabilities and its shift towards a larger, but lesser quality, army since the activation of reservists in September 2022.

According to the statement, it is estimated that it will take Russia between five and ten years to reconstruct a group of well-trained and seasoned military units.
