John Oliver publicly criticized Fabio Lanzoni for equating Hamas to Nazis and stated that Lanzoni’s statement about Nazis being more discreet about their actions was unacceptable.
The actor who played Zoolander was a guest on Fox Business during the weekend, and he talked about the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas.
During the 10-minute interview, Mr. Lanzoni made some outrageous claims about Hamas, who launched an attack on Israel on October 7th, resulting in the deaths of 1,400 individuals and the abduction of hundreds at the Gaza border.
During an interview with Fox anchor Neil Cavuto, the actor expressed his thoughts on Hamas, stating that they take great joy in killing and that their actions are even more heinous than those of the Nazis.
He proceeded to mention that Hamas terrorists appear overly delighted in sharing the number of Jewish individuals they have killed. He stated, “At least the Nazis tried to keep it under wraps.”
TV show Last Week Tonight’s host, John Oliver, criticized actor Fabio for his strange remark.
“Wait a moment, Fabio,” Mr. Oliver stated during his show on Sunday evening. “I don’t mean to oppose a renowned geopolitical specialist and former spokesperson for ‘I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter’, but did he really say ‘at least the Nazis kept it somewhat discreet?!'”
“The Nazis maintained many aspects,” Mr. Oliver added. “They maintained punctuality, blonde hair, and a lack of humor. And indeed, they maintained strict control. They were well-dressed individuals, but subtlety was certainly not their strong suit, Fabio!”
In a separate part of the interview, Fabio referred to President Biden as the “least effective leader in the history of America” and shared unfounded ideas about the origin of the dispute, stating that they would be discovered “if one thoroughly investigates.”

Fabio suggested that Israel was finalizing an agreement with Saudi Arabia to transport oil to Europe and Asia. He noted that a large portion of the oil originates from Russia, and Iran typically sells the oil to Asia. He implied that Iran’s sudden attack on Israel was a result of this arrangement.
He also protected Israel, who carried out counterattacks on Gaza following the October 7th attack, resulting in the deaths of at least 13,000 Palestinians.
According to Fabio, Israel is simply protecting itself. He believes that if a similar event had occurred in the United States on October 7th, the country would have responded with a nuclear attack on its neighboring nation.
Human rights groups are demanding an immediate end to the fighting in the area, as a recent report from the United Nations revealed that 70% of the casualties from Israeli airstrikes in Gaza were women and children. This is in contrast to the IDF’s assertion that their attacks are aimed at Hamas fighters.
The current leader of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, has been unwilling to agree to a ceasefire despite pleas and pressure from the United States to pause for humanitarian reasons. He has stated that there will be no temporary ceasefire until all hostages have been freed.
