Jeremy Hunt believes that there is an excessive amount of pessimism surrounding the state of Britain's economy.

Jeremy Hunt, the Chancellor, stated that there is an excessive amount of pessimism surrounding the economy of Britain. He did not explicitly rule out the possibility of a sudden decrease in income tax.

During his appearance on BBC One’s Sunday show with Laura Kuenssberg, Mr Hunt stated that there is an excessive amount of negativity surrounding the British economy.

There is a sense of pessimism. In reality, there are many advantages to it. For instance, the technology industry will play a significant role in shaping our future in the next two decades.

“We are now ranked as the third largest country in the world, following behind the United States and China. This will provide the UK with great strength and potential for the future.”
