It seems that Donald Trump’s stance on Nato has shifted after facing criticism for his previous statement that he would support Russia in taking action against member countries who do not contribute enough.
In an interview with former Brexit leader Nigel Farage on GB News, President Trump stated that the United States would fully support Nato members who fulfill their financial obligations.
However, he also inquired, “What is the reason for protecting these wealthy nations?”
Recently, Mr. Farage mentioned that due to certain comments made a couple of weeks back, payments are now being made. I’m not sure if you were aware, but a significant amount of money has been received following those comments. Initially, NATO was not paying.
NATO members have made a commitment to allocate a minimum of two percent of their GDP towards their own defense, although some members have not achieved this goal yet.
During the initial meeting of my term, I arrived early and observed the situation.I made it clear that everyone would need to be responsible for paying their debts, as per Mr. Trump’s statement to GB News.
