The Princess of Wales overcame her inherent shyness when she delivered her emotional news on camera, according to a royal expert.
Royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith praised Kate’s “poised and “sincere” delivery and admitted it was no easy feat for the naturally introverted princess.
She was “sincere, dignified, poised, and she was forthright” in her delivery, but the announcement likely wasn’t easy, Bedell Smith said. She told People: “She is inherently shy, and for her to do that took a lot.”
Meanwhile, Prince Harry is ‘regretful’ after his relationship with Kate broke down ‘spectacularly’, claims royal biographer Duncan Larcombe.
The Duke of Sussex and the Princess of Wales enjoyed a close bond before Harry’s relationship with his family became fractured after he made multiple public bombshell allegations about his relatives.
Kate revealed her cancer diagnosis to the world on 22 March, however it is understood neither Harry nor Meghan were told of the announcement ahead of time, laying bare the extent of the fallout.
Royal biographer Duncan Larcombe told the Mirror: “Bombshell news like Kate’s puts things into perspective and Harry isn’t immune from being filled with regrets and what-ifs. Kate was like the sister Harry never had and he is probably full of regret at how his relationship with her and William has collapsed so spectacularly.”

Balmoral Castle tours sold out in 24 hours
Tours of Balmoral Castle which will give visitors the chance to see parts of the royal family’s private home for the first time have sold out.
Guided tours will take place of the castle’s interior from July 1 to August 4, but tickets sold out within a day of going on sale.
The tours will take place before the King and Queen arrive for their summer break at the Aberdeenshire castle, with 40 tickets a day made available.
Visitors have previously only been able to visit the ballroom and the grounds of the castle, which was completed in 1855 and bought by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.
The sell-out tour of the castle’s interior was priced at £100, or £150 for the tour plus afternoon tea.
Tours are restricted to 10 people, and visitors are promised “a historical journey through several of the beautiful rooms within Balmoral Castle”, and the chance to “travel through time” from the Victorian era to the present day.
Balmoral is described as “the much-loved and celebrated Highland home of the royal family”, in publicity material for the tours.
In September 2022, the Queen was photographed in the drawing room at Balmoral as she waited to receive then Conservative leader Liz Truss, to invite her to become prime minister and form a new government.
Two days later on September 8, the Queen died.

Visitors will be able to take guided tours of the royal residence’s east wing, the front facade which faces The Mall where crowds assemble on major occasions to see the monarchy.
The palace’s east wing was built between 1847-49 to accommodate Queen Victoria’s growing family, and the development enclosed the former open horseshoe-shaped royal residence.
The wing’s principal floor will be open in July and August following more than five years of improvements, which were part of the ongoing £369 million reservicing programme to update the palace’s electrical cabling, plumbing and heating system over 10 years.

In a video released on 22 March, the Princess of Wales revealed that she had been undergoing chemotherapy in the wake of major abdominal surgery in January. Following the operation, cancer cells were found in subsequent tests.
At the time, Kate’s condition was not disclosed to the public, and the release of a photoshopped image of the princess and her children exacerbated the spread of conspiracy theories speculating on the reason behind her low profile.
“I just want to say, I am heartbroken by the news about Princess Kate,” Cohen, 55, said on Monday’s broadcast of his SiriusXM radio show, Andy Cohen Live.
