On Tuesday evening, Donald Trump marked his win in the New Hampshire Republican primary by ridiculing his sole remaining opponent Nikki Haley. He expressed frustration with her decision to stay in the race despite his increasing dominance within the party.
Mr. Trump also seemed to imply that his ex-UN ambassador could face an investigation regarding topics she would rather not discuss.
The previous leader’s attempt to overturn the restriction placed on him by Judge Tanya Chutkan in the federal case accusing him of interfering with the election has been denied. This was in response to a filing by special counsel Jack Smith from the Justice Department.
The order, which prohibits him from discussing witnesses and court personnel, was previously upheld by a panel of three judges.
Eleven judges from the DC Circuit Court of Appeal have refused to reconsider the issue, however, Mr. Trump still has the option to appeal to the Supreme Court.
The defamation case against the Republican in New York is scheduled to continue on Thursday, after being delayed on Monday due to fears of Covid-19 exposure among the jury and defense team. This has disrupted Mr. Trump’s intentions to testify against the accuser, E Jean Carroll, who he denies sexually assaulting.
Haley believes that the Republican race is still ongoing, even though Trump won the New Hampshire primary.
The opponent of Trump maintains that the primary election for the party is still ongoing, despite her recent loss. Her bold attitude has greatly annoyed the winner.
The ex-governor of South Carolina maintained a positive attitude at her rally on Tuesday night in New Hampshire, anticipating that she will receive a greater number of delegates from the Granite State than originally anticipated.
Haley addressed the Concord audience, stating that the race is still ongoing with many states yet to come, including her home state of South Carolina.

The ex-president, who is currently leading the polls for the 2024 Republican nomination, was anticipated to do well in New Hampshire due to his strong support within the Republican Party. However, unlike his success in Iowa last week, Trump’s win margin on Tuesday was narrower.
Early data suggests that Haley had a strong performance in more liberal-leaning counties such as Dover, Concord, and Keene, as a result of a higher than anticipated turnout of independent voters.

Nikki Haley, after competing against Mr. Trump in the Granite State, has been defeated in her first one-on-one battle. Despite receiving endorsements from the state’s governor, major newspaper, and the conservative opinion board at the Wall Street Journal, Ms. Haley was unable to surpass the former president. Many of Mr. Trump’s supporters still view him as the current officeholder, making it difficult for Ms. Haley to come out on top.
What is the next step? Why hasn’t Nikki Haley withdrawn from the race, like Ron DeSantis and Vivek Ramaswamy did after their unsuccessful attempts to “shock the media”, as Mr. Ramaswamy put it, in Iowa?

Instead of expressing gratitude to voters or praising Ms Haley’s performance – as the previous UN ambassador did in her speech – Mr Trump criticized Ms Haley for “failing badly” and ridiculed her for giving a speech.
Former presidential candidates Vivek Ramaswamy and Tim Scott joined Mr. Trump as he invited Mr. Ramaswamy to speak about Ms. Haley. Mr. Trump mentioned that Mr. Ramaswamy was “the only person more angry than me.”
“I don’t become overly angry, I seek justice,” stated Mr. Trump – a popularly employed warning by the ex-president.
During his speech, the ex-president stated that Ms. Haley would face an investigation shortly after winning.

Donald Trump has returned to the courtroom for the 2019 lawsuit brought by E Jean Carroll, which is finally going to trial. In addition, Carroll filed a second lawsuit against the former president in 2022, which was heard in spring of 2023. A jury determined that Trump sexually assaulted Carroll, who had accused him of rape at a Bergdorf Goodman store thirty years ago. He was also found guilty of defaming her by denying the allegations and calling her a liar. Carroll was awarded $2 million for sexual abuse and $3 million for defamation. The trial began this week with the same judge who presided over the 2022 case.
